Course Credit & Costs

The following cost estimates are approximations only. Costs are subject to change owing to exchange rates and other miscellaneous factors (e.g., rising energy costs). These estimates DO NOT include TAMU tuition, return airfares to the host countries, or personal spending allowances. You are responsible for these items. Round trip airfares are approximately $2200 and you are encouraged to bring approximately $800 spending money for the Australia and New Zealand programs and $1000 for Fiji/Australia program.

Australia - North Queensland

  • May 25 to June 17, 2011 -  There are no pre-requisites, but eligible students must be in good academic standing (GPR > 2.0).
  • 6 credit hours - Students must register for a total of 6 Summer I semester credits in “RENR:400: Study Abroad in Natural Resources (Australia).”
  • Cost Estimate ~ $4,300 (program fee)
    Program fees include all accommodation, orientation, approximately 40% of your meals, group activities, and all in-country transportation.”

Fiji & Australia

  • May 16 to June 17, 2011 -  There are no pre-requisites, but eligible students must be in good academic standing (GPR > 2.0).
  • 8 credit hours - Students must register for a total of 8 Summer I semester credits in “RENR:400: Study Abroad in Natural Resources (Fiji & Australia).”
  • Cost Estimate ~ $5,400 (program fee)
    Program fees include all accommodation, orientation, approximately 90% of your meals in Fiji and 40% of your meals in Australia, group activities, and all in-country transportation.

New Zealand - South Island

  • May 25 - June 17, 2010 - There are no pre-requisites, but eligible students must be in good academic standing (GPR > 2.0).
  • 6 credit hours - Students must register for a total of 6 Summer I semester credits in “RENR:400: Study Abroad in Natural Resources (New Zealand).”
